A BMW was spotted speeding at 121 miles per hour without a valid licence on the M27 near Romsey.
A a grey BMW 320D was spotted speeding past highway maintenance workers at around 8.30pm on September 11 between junctions two and three.
The driver, a Coventry man, 33, was quickly stopped by police, who described him as being "very apologetic".
Following the incident, police released the following post on Twitter: "After speeding past maintenance workers and reaching 121mph, this driver was very apologetic for his actions when the blue lights came on.
"He will only be going as fast as his taxi now. His vehicle was seized because he did not have a licence. Court date in the post."
