A flamenco company is bringing its first multimedia production to a Hampshire theatre.
Mi Flamenco, which was launched in 2006, is set to perform its production 'Echoes' at Theatre Royal, Winchester on Nov 14.
The company was founded by co-producers Ester and Uri Tal, who spent years living and working among the flamenco gypsies in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia.
'Echoes' is Mi Flamenco's first multimedia production and aims to give audiences an insight into Andalusian culture.
The performance will feature flamenco dance, gypsy flamenco song, and live music on guitar and cello.
Mi Flamenco will also use a rear-view projection screen with images to provoke and inspire the dance and musical narrative.
The production will explore everything from the Mediterranean and fish markets of Cadiz to the holy processions and bullfighting.
Richard Wolfenden-Brown, director at the Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington, said: "It was world class, stylish, powerful, and uplifting.
"The packed audience went home in raptures about the performance."
Bridget Floyer, artistic director at Ashcroft Arts Fareham, Forest Arts New Milton, and West End Centre Aldershot, said: "Mi Flamenco’s Echoes was vibrant and stirring, bringing an evocative taste of Southern Spain.
"The sold-out audience had a fabulous evening."
