DRIVERS in and around Winchester will have 15 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm August 9 to 6am September 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road and lane closures for barrier work.

• M27, from 8pm September 2 to 6am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 both directions, junction 9 to junction 10, slip road and lane closures for major improvement work.

And a further 13 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M27, from 6am September 10 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 both directions, junction 9 to junction 10, 24/7 lane closures for major improvement work.

• A34, from 9pm September 10 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound and M3 northbound, junction 9 Roundabout, Roundabout and lane closures for maintenance work.

• M3, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 8 to junction 9, Lane closure for technology works.

• A303, from 9pm September 11 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Micheldever, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 8pm September 12 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Sutton Scotney Services, Services and lane closures for inspection work.

• A303, from 9.30pm September 13 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Picket Twenty, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A303, from 8pm September 16 to 6am October 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 southbound, Bullington to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closure for resurfacing work.

• M3, from 9.30pm September 18 to 6am September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A303, from 8pm September 23 to 6am October 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington to M3, junction 9 and A303 both directions Bullington to Micheldever, mobile lane closures for litter clearance.

• M3, from 9.30pm September 23 to 6am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11 to junction 12, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
