A Winchester hairdresser has won a prestigious national award for his take on a 70s look.

Giuseppe Manco has bagged the prized Hair Trend trophy at the national hair awards, Most Wanted.

This victory came for his stylish rendition of a 70’s-style 'shag' haircut, outshining a record number of competing entries across the country.

The Most Wanted awards ceremony took place at Beams in Royal Docks, one of London's newest cultural spaces, on the night of September 7, 2024.

Comedian Suzi Ruffell hosted the event, which marked the culmination of the year's competition.

The occasion saw a crowd of over 650 VIPs from different fields, including the hair and beauty industry, fashion, business, and media.

Esteemed experts from sectors such as media, fashion design, education, photography, and film, along with well-known figures from the world of hairdressing, formed the judging panel for the competition.

The panel included award-winning broadcaster Ateh Jewel, ARKIVE haircare founder Adam Reed, beauty journalist Cassie Steer, talent managers Lindsay Cruikshank and Charlotte Rycroft, and many more luminaries from different walks of life.

For his exceptional work, Giuseppe will take home a prestigious trophy, a prize from category sponsor Redken, and will reap significant publicity from the Creative HEAD brand.

Additionally, he will have the chance to appear at future Creative HEAD events.

Creative HEAD editorial director, Amanda Nottage, said: "The shag is this year’s stand-out comeback hair trend and Giuseppe’s iteration, complete with subtle layers and relaxed styling, gives off all the effortlessly cool French girl vibes that clients are looking for right now."
