A TAKEAWAY near Winchester has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Kings Worthy Balti House, at 12 Fraser Road, was given the score after assessment on August 6, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The inspection showed that "major improvement is necessary" in the field of food safety management.

This is defined as follows: "System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future."
While the other two categories inspected, hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were found to be "generally satisfactory", the low score in the third category was enough to drag the overall score down to a lowly one.
When contacted by the Chronicle, a representative of the restaurant returned the call but hung up when asked about the food hygiene rating.
The news means that, of Winchester's 51 takeaways with ratings, 38 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
