A HAMPSHIRE village fete is returning this year with a brand new feature at the end of the summer.

It’s a case of best paw forward at this year’s Owslebury Fete which features a dog show as a new event for 2024.

The Fete opens at 12.30pm on Sunday, September 8 on the Glebe Field, beside St Andrew’s Church, with new stalls including piggy racing, crazy golf, and the dog show organised by local dog groomer Frizzbees.

The crazy golf course has been devised by local wood craftsman Paul Simmons and features obstacles to test golfers of all abilities.

Refreshments include a BBQ, sponsored by local dentists White Winchester, the Beer Tent organised by the Lift Controller, and the popular tea tent with an array of home-made cakes.

The fete features a range of traditional games and an Aladdin’s cave of curiosities on the bric a brac stall.

The fun starts at 12.30pm  and dog show classes are for the dog with the waggiest tail, the dog with the best trick and the best dog in the show

Organisers have said they are very grateful for the ongoing sponsorship by Charters Estate Agents.

Winchester MP Danny Chambers will be attending the fete as a special guest and is hoping to judge the fun dog show.
