STOCKBRIDGE High Street, home to The Grosvenor Hotel, has been named as the second-best street in the UK for independent shops.
Research commissioned by American Express Shop Small discovered this village rose above others across the nation with its unique offerings, despite fierce competition.
It is often praised for its unique blend of stylish shops, local gastronomic delights and an invigorating sense of community.
The spotlight, this time, comes courtesy of its neighbour and collaborator, The Grosvenor. The hotel, sitting centrally on the High Street, operates closely with local purveyors, directing guests to the best shops and boutiques for a memorable experience.
This community-driven setup allowed it to bag second place among the top 10 high streets in the UK.
Reinvented recently, the historic building originally erected in 1822 by Robert Grosvenor, was restored to its former glory in 2021 by the local Henderson family. Boasting 31 individually designed rooms inclusive of the intriguing Tap Cottage, The Grosvenor offers a unique blend of comfort and charm.
From an art-filled lively bar and restaurant to the cosy library meeting room, every corner is drenched in personality. The hotel's walled garden is a sweet escape from the bustle, serving food from a wood-fired oven during warmer months.
The food at The Grosvenor, a great attraction in itself, was recently enhanced by the arrival of their new head chef Oli Abbott.
