THERE will be a "harvest tea" party in Itchen Abbas on September 21. Between 3.30pm and 5.30pm all are welcome to come and meet at the event organised by the Itchen Valley Parish at St John's Church. There also promises to be cake and good company.

A CAR boot sale will take place this month in Easton. On September 22 between 1pm and 4pm, more than 100 pitches will be dedicated to the event at the Village Hall and Recreation Ground. Car pitch prices begin at £10, whereas buyers pay £2 for entry. There is also an "early bird" option for those wishing to get ahead of the queues for £5. Tea, cakes, and a barbecue will also be available. You can pre-book your pitch at eastonvillagehall.co.uk. All proceeds will be shared between the Easton Village Hall and Recreation Ground charity and the Easton and Martyr Worthy Cricket Club.

A JAZZ concert will take place at Crawley Village Hall. "Jazz in the Village" will feature Ian Miller on saxophone and Dominic Miller on piano. The event begins at 7pm on Friday, September 13. Tickets are £20 and include a meal. Drinks will also be available at the bar.

RUGBYTOTS classes beginning in September are open for booking in and around The Worthys. The classes are for kids aged between two and seven and are for both boys and girls. The classes are held at various venues, including Princes Mead School, Itchen Abbas Village Hall and Swanmore Village Hall. THE Worthys music festival returns this year to Eversley Park, Kings Worthy. Promising to be “bigger and better than before”, the event will take place on September 14. The local bands performing will include Flaxen Hill, Dave and We’re Not Worthy. Ukulele music, jazz and classical are a few of the genres on offer, with The Hyde Quartet set to “posh it up” between the more lively acts. Alfred’s Brewery will provide beer and there will be street food along with an array of refreshments. The Winchester Sport and Social Club will also open its bar to the public. THIS autumn will see the return of the Sparsholt Harvest Supper. On Saturday, October 12 at Sparsholt Memorial Hall, members of the public are invited to gather and give thanks for the bounty of the “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness”. Tickets are £15 for an adult, or £30 for a family with children under the age of 14. They are available from Sparsholt Village Shop or Sally Wesley (01962 776476) from September 1. There will also be drinks and a raffle available for purchase. The event begins at 7pm. Anyone with specific dietary requirements should let Sally know.

The next Sparsholt Parish Council meeting will take place on September 19 at 7.30pm. This will be the first meeting including the new addition of Councillor Sam Culhane. It will be held in the Mosaic Room in the Memorial Hall in Sparsholt.

BOUNCE Winchester is still holding three classes at Tubbs Hall in Kings Worthy. The trampoline-based sessions are designed to make exercise fun.
