A man has been arrested in relation to a serious incident on the M3.

At approximately 6.20am on Saturday, August 31, police were called to an accident involving a car and pedestrian.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital in a "serious condition" and the road is expected to remain closed for "several hours".

A 37-year-old driver from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs. He is currently in police custody.
