Volunteers for Home-Start Winchester's annual car boot sale, including a Celtic harpist with her Welsh Harp, raised £2,100.
On August Bank Holiday Monday, 58 eager sellers arrived at the crack of dawn in Bramdean, quickly followed by hundreds of bargain-hunters.
Hosted for the 37th year by TV presenter Alastair and Sally Stewart, the event attracted notable attendees like harpist Julia Dove, from Meonstoke, while canine friends--from Irish Setters to Jack Russells--added to the festive atmosphere.
Many attendees were accompanied by their furry companions, complete with baskets and rugs in their cars. Home-Start Winchester is part of the national family support charity, operating within a 12-mile radius of the city.
It offers support to families with children under five who face issues such as unemployment, bereavement, mental health problems, disability, and isolation.
Particularly, it caters for those without a family support network, proving once more that they are at the heart of helping struggling families in local communities.
Home-Start trustee Chrissie Barlow said: "We are so grateful to the Stewart family for hosting us again. It is such a great venue with loads of parking and acres of fields. I do hope they’ll invite us back again next year!"
