SAVE the date for Colden Common's scarecrow festival in October. 
It will be held around the village on Sunday, October 6 from 10am to 3pm.
In a Facebook post, organisers said: “Our popular annual community event returns. Join us for a scarecrow hunt around Colden Common. With tasty chocolate treat (allergy alternatives available), wonderful arts and crafts and fab raffle prizes. Great family fun for all ages, with riddles to solve for older children. Everyone is invited! £5 per child. Price includes entry to the trail and prize, entry to the arts and crafts and colouring competitions and a drink and a biscuit.
“Hot drinks will be served in stoneware cups. If you would like to purchase a drink to take away with you, please bring your own reusable mug.”

PLANNING has started for next year's annual village fete in Colden Common.
Common Have a Go will be held on Saturday, June 21 next year. 
A meeting is being held for people interested in being part of the planning team on Tuesday, September 10 at 7.30pm at Colden Common Community Centre. 

A DROP-IN session is being held at Colden Common Community Centre on the planned changes to the community association's constitution. 
It will be held on Wednesday, September 18 from 7pm - 9pm. 
People are being encouraged to contact the community centre beforehand for an amended copy of the constitution. 
A small number of printed copies will be available to view. 

COLDEN Common Community Pantry is appealing for donations.
They need - tinned food: e.g. meat/vegetarian stews, curries, soup, fish, baked beans, tomatoes, Fray Bentos pies.
Unopened packets of dry food: e.g. breakfast cereals, tea, biscuits. Sachets of rice or pasta.
Jars: e.g. coffee, jams, marmalade, sauces, frankfurters.
Cleaning and personal hygiene items: e.g. sanitary products, nappies, toilet rolls, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo.
Tinned vegetables are not in demand except tomatoes.

COLDEN Common Youth Football Club is recruiting for a new girls' team.
They have started the U11 Royals for year five and six children this season.

LOOKING ahead, the Twyford pumpkin revival is returning. 
It will be held at The Bugle Inn on Sunday, October 13 from 5.30pm. 
There will be food drinks, weigh the pumpkin competition and more. 

AN indoor car boot sale is coming to Colden Common. 
It will be held at Colden Common Community Centre on Saturday, September 7 from 11am to 12.30pm. 
Entry costs 50p. Tables cost £5.

A DIGITAL skills workshop is being held in Colden Common in September. 
The free workshop starts on Thursday, September 12 at 11am to 1pm and lasts for eight weeks at the community centre. 
The digital skills include security, emails, Google, Zoom, shopping and more.

TWYFORD Parish Hall is hosting its annual holistic wellness event in September.
It will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 11am to 4pm. 
There will be a wide range of stalls including: pyrography, kinesiology, LaStone therapy, cacao ceremonies, crystal ball readings, angelic readings, intuitive coaching and more.
