A HAMPSHIRE estate will be opened up to lovebirds hoping to tie the knot.

Newly engaged couples are being invited to Broadlands in Romsey for a wedding ceremony open day to see the beautiful locations available on the estate for ceremonies and meet local wedding suppliers.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 8, from 11am to 2pm and no booking is required. Couples are invited to discover the exclusive charm of this historic estate, where the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip began their married life. Broadlands caters for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies.

The magnificent Orangery will be dressed as it would be for a wedding ceremony, and couples can view this and the two other Broadlands wedding venues, the Walled Garden and Inigo Bridge over the River Test.

There will also be local wedding suppliers, including hair stylists, make-up artists, wedding stationery suppliers, a harpist, a jeweller, furniture companies and wedding planners – all the essentials for creating the perfect wedding.

Richard Jordan-Baker, a director of Broadlands, said: “Broadlands offers three locations for wedding ceremonies and we are looking forward to welcoming couples to view the stunning Orangery, beautiful Walled Garden and unique Inigo Bridge.

“We’re delighted to be supported by a range of local wedding suppliers who will be very happy to talk to couples about their products and services.”

Set in the Test Valley at Romsey, Hampshire, Broadlands is the home of Lord and Lady Mountbatten and their family. The Broadlands Estate covers some 4500 acres, much of which is open land dedicated to agriculture.
