ONE of Great Britain's most decorated Olympians will be teaching local kids this weekend.

Swimming star Adam Peaty, who secured a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke at the recent Paris Olympics, will bring one of his renowned AP Race Clinics to Winchester Sport and Leisure Park on Saturday, August 31.

Adam, a three-time Olympian with gold medals from Rio and Tokyo and his recent silver from Paris, will lead the clinic alongside his elite support team. The event will take place at the state-of-the-art facility operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Winchester City Council.

Established in 2019, AP Race Clinics has become a popular event for swimmers, parents and coaches, offering invaluable guidance and inspiration throughout their swimming journeys.

Supporting Adam is Ed Baxter, a gold medallist at the 2015 Youth Commonwealth Games and a multiple British champion and British record holder, as well as additional coaches and a psychologist.

The clinic has already attracted many talented swimmers from across the area, with a waiting list now in place for those hoping to join on the day. Participants will benefit from Peaty's firsthand insights into Olympic-level competition and his recent experiences in Paris.

Four stations will be set up across the day, three for swimmers and one for parents, as well as gym and racing edge stations, where they will receive expert advice from a strength and conditioning coach and a psychologist, respectively.

A parents' support station will provide insights from the team's combined experiences, offering a space to explore and discuss all aspects of competitive swimming.

Local club coaches are being offered free attendance and the chance to receive mentoring from one of the country's leading senior coaches.

To conclude the event, Peaty will give a presentation on his career, including his recent Olympic experience, the lessons he has learned, and how he has maintained his world-class performance levels over multiple Olympic cycles.
