THE next Sutton Scotney Community Café will take place at the Victoria Hall on Wednesday, September 18. The café, which will last from 9.30am to 12noon, will be fundraising for an Autism assistance dog for local boy Stefan.  Some of his family will be at the café to give visitors information about the project. All the cakes are homemade, and there is real coffee and plenty of free parking.  As well having a gluten free cake option every month, the café also offers cheese scones and biscotti. All the cakes are available to eat-in or takeaway. The café is cash only.

A FREE workshop detailing cyber fraud will be held at East Stratton Village Hall on Monday, November 25 at 7.30pm. The workshop is being held by Hampshire Police and will cover a number of different aspects of both online and offline scams, including protecting and securing your email accounts, social media and talking through methods the criminals can use to target us all, even without using our devices. This awareness session aims to help keep the online information of attendees safer and help recognise when we could be being conned, otherwise known as social engineered by criminals.

A WATER filling station has been installed at South Wonston Pavilion. It can be found at the front of the pavilion and has an attached “Doggy Station” so dog walkers can give their pets a drink when they are out and about.

LOWER Norton Flower Farm, near Sutton Scotney, is holding a day retreat on September 7. The day will feature art and mindfulness in a stunning setting. There are limited spaces available – to book your space, visit jorichardsartist.com/shop.

ST MARY’S Church, Micheldever, will hold a music night on September 29. An unforeseen bill for significant money has arisen for essential repairs on the church's magnificent organ. In response, this evening of music will be dedicated to raising funds for that repair. The seating will be adjusted to bring the musicians into the nave to optimize the acoustics for music. It is hoped that the music night will evolve into a regular feature, offering a diverse range of music and performances. More information about the music night will be revealed soon.

THE next Micheldever Village Lunch will take place on September 4 at 12.30pm in Northbrook Hall. The cost is £5 for a freshly prepared two-course lunch, a glass of sherry or wine and coffee. It is a very sociable occasion where old friends meet and new friends are made. Transport can be provided for those without their own vehicles or for the less mobile of attendees. A CAR boot sale has been arranged at The Gratton in Sutton Scotney on August 31 to raise funds for the maintenance of The Gratton recreational ground. Buyers can enter from 10am and must pay a 50p charge. Those wishing to sell from cars must pay £7.50 while those with vans will be charged £10. Sellers are welcome from 9am onwards. The event is organised and run by the Gratton Trust.

A FOUR-PIECE cover band will be performing in a Sutton Scotney pub. Key of Jay will take the stage and The Coach and Horses on Oxford Road on Friday, November 8, bringing their versions of classics by Led Zeppelin, Queen and many more to the Hampshire village.
