The sun shone as thousands enjoyed the first day of one of the biggest festivals in Hampshire.

On Friday, August 23, festival-goers flocked to Portsmouth to celebrate the start of the Victorious Festival.

With more than 10 stages spread across Southsea Common, including Southsea Castle, there's plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Headlining Friday night was Grammy and Brit award-winning DJ and producer Fatboy Slim who brought a pyro and confetti-filled set full of back-to-back hits including Praise You, Right Here Right Now and Rockafeller Skank.

Comedian Russell Howard headlined proceedings at the festival’s Comedy stage alongside Portsmouth-born Suzi Ruffell and compere for the day Emmanuel Sonubi

Alongside the music and comedy, families enjoyed the sunshine in Victorious’ Kids Arena. TV presenter Katy Ashworth took to the stage on Friday for the ultimate disco party and little ones also enjoyed bounce fitness session, Jedi training, the world’s biggest bouncy castle, climbing walls, retro gaming, cupcake decorating and face painting.
