Ali Gayward, easyJet’s country manager said: “We are delighted to be launching a new winter route from Southampton Airport to Amsterdam, providing our customers in the south of England with more choice and connectivity, whether they are travelling for business or leisure and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”
Christopher Tibbett, Group Aviation Director of AGS Airports, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to be see easyJet expand its presence at Southampton Airport this winter with the news it will commence services to Amsterdam.
“In the past 12 months, the UK’s biggest low-cost carrier has expanded its presence from the region in a significant way, with Amsterdam becoming the seventh destination it will serve, up from just one this time last year.
“This link into the Netherlands’ capital will not only provide our passengers with more travel options but also underscores our commitment to improving regional connectivity.
"Amsterdam is a major European hub, and we are confident that this service will be well-received by both our leisure and business passengers and adds even more choice for consumers in the region wanting to get to or from Amsterdam, along with providing further options for inbound tourism."
The airport launched new flights to Bergerac and Majorca earlier this year.
Amsterdam is easyJet's seventh route from Southampton, adding to its popular services to Belfast and Glasgow in the UK, Geneva in Switzerland, Alicante and Faro, Portugal.
