PARK home residents have had water restored after they had intermittent supply for five weeks.

People living at Wykeham Park, in Alresford Road, Morn Hill, were furious after raising the issues with Southern Water multiple times.

Winchester's MP Danny Chambers got involved, and after writing to the water board's CEO Laurence Godsen the problems seem to be resolved.

Mr Chambers visited Wykeham Park residents on Monday, August 19 to meet residents and is “delighted” that the problems are finally fixed.

The Liberal Democrat MP said: “I am delighted that this problem has been resolved and am keeping in close contact with Wykeham Park residents to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

“At a time of rising bills, Southern Water must react swiftly to water outages. It is vitally important that residents are able to rely on their water supply, especially during the hot summer months.

“My team and I have been working hard to help constituents and I am glad that we have been able to help here. If you have any issues, please get in touch with me.”

In his letter to Mr Godsen, the MP said: “Specifically, we have an urgent situation that has arisen this week. We have been informed that there are water pressure issues affecting the residents of Wykeham Park, a park home site near the Winchester Science Centre. Low water pressure and lack of water is problematic at the best of times but is especially difficult for residents during this current heatwave.

“This is a recurring issue, and many of the residents of Wykeham Park are pensioners. I am keen to learn how we can prevent this from happening again.”
