WINCHESTER'S motorists will have 14 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Only one of them, however, is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm August 9 to 6am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road and lane closures for barrier work.

And a further 13 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M3, from 9pm August 19 to 6am August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 12, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A303, from 7am August 20 to midday, August 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3/A303/A34 Car Fest Event Laverstoke Park Overton, Event Signage Only.

• M27, from 10pm August 21 to 6am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 10, Lane closures for technology work.

• A34, from 8pm August 27 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Three Maids Hill, Lane closures for inspection work.

• M27, from 8pm August 27 to 6am August 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 8 to junction 9, Lane closures for technology work.

• A34, from 9pm August 27 to 6am August 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound, Sutton Scotney Services, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A27, from 9.30pm August 27 to 6am August 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A27 both directions Harts Farm Way, link road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 9pm August 28 to 6am August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Three Maids Hill, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 8pm August 30 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound, Kingsworthy, Lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 9pm August 31 to 6am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• A34, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Bullington, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

• M27, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 both directions, junction 9 to junction 10, slip road and lane closures for major improvement work.

• M27, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 10, Lane closures for maintenance work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
