Despite the bustle of summer, the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop is already planning a series of exciting autumn events.

Commencing with a slate of daytime talks to honour Arnhem 80 and Operation Market Garden, presented by Derek Armitage, the museum's previous curator, the season begins on September 16.

Likewise, Richard Osgood, the senior archaeologist at the Ministry of Defence, will present a talk titled "In Search of the Band of Brothers: Archaeology at Aldbourne" on September 19.

Enthusiasts of military history will have a feast with four new evening lectures planned.

Tony Bray, an expert of the Glider Pilot Regiment, will make a return appearance at the museum.

The popular Brick Event on September 21-22 promises a plethora of Lego-themed activities, from speedy building challenges to robot wars, catered by The Brick People.

A unique valuation day is slated for September 25, with Bellmans providing a special priced entry for attendees.

This event is perfect for those interested in the valuation of unique items, such as coins, jewellery, paintings and decorative arts.

Wrapping up the month, the Romsey Male Voice Choir will make its debut performance at the museum, offering a magnificent evening of music.

Note that ticket availability is already limited.

For kids on their October half-term, the museum is setting up special "space"-themed craft sessions combined with model making and painting on October 30.

As a highlight, the museum will also host a special Meccano day.

The Middle Wallop and Andover Military Wives Choir will present a concert of remembrance on November 8 at the Hayward Hall.

Previous concerts have sold out, so early booking is advised.

Attendees can also gear up for the annual Christmas fair, set on November 23-24.

More than thirty local gift, craft, and food stalls will be available for early Christmas shopping.

December 7 brings Santa's Flying Visit, a family event where children can meet Santa and have their photos taken in a historic Scout helicopter.

On December 11, the Army Medical Services Band will have a festive concert at the museum, rounding off the festive season on a high note.
