A WINCHESTER man has been slapped with a court order and fined after he pleaded guilty to assault.
Simon Rolls, 50, of Christchurch Road, assaulted a woman on Saturday, May 18, a court heard.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 20, Rolls pleaded guilty to the offence.

On Wednesday, July 10, Rolls was given a community order by magistrates to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments, with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them, or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 35 days. He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
Rolls must also pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 costs. According to the court record, the total amount of £199 will be deducted from Rolls’ benefits in £10 instalments every fortnight.
The first instalment was paid on August 7.
