CIVIC chiefs have responded after a Winchester residents complained that buses going to Boomtown were preventing locals from parking.
Fred White, of Sussex Street, told the Chronicle that the buses were parking in along Newburgh Street.
Hampshire County Council, which is responsible for street parking, has now said that they have called Mr White to discuss his concerns.

In a statement, the county council said: "Newburgh Street in Winchester has been closed to traffic except for Boomtown festival shuttle buses and residents’ vehicles. The buses are expected to park on the carriageway and not in the resident bays, which remain open for use by residents as usual. Boomtown Festival staff are on site to manage these arrangements and our parking officers will be monitoring the area to ensure these conditions are met. Residents can also contact Boomtown’s organisers directly.
“We can confirm a member of our team responded promptly, calling Mr White to discuss his concerns. We have also followed up the matter directly with the festival organisers.”
Mr White previously said: "There's no one here to sort out the issue. They're all working from home. There's buses all over the place."
