What is 108 The Bakery like?

On its website 108 The Bakery describes itself as "Romsey's only sourdough bakery" that makes fresh bread and pastries by hand on the premises.

It adds: "We make great tasting bread using locally sourced ingredients, organic local flour and seasonal flavours.

"Our aim is to reduce food miles and create a thriving local food economy by reconnecting our local community with their local food producers."

Some of the options on their menu at the moment include Apple and Blackberry Crumble Cruffin, Chocolate and Sourdough Brown 'Butter' Cookie and Pork Venison and Elderberry Sausage Roll.

Alongside this, the bakery also offers workshops as part of its mission statement to "spread some love for cooking real food at home".

It adds: "We've taught hundreds of people to make their own sourdough, how to make croissants as well as making the most of seasonal produce.

"Our workshops are always fun, hands-on, informal and information packed and usually involve a good deal of eating too!"

108 The Bakery has been well-received by customers with a 4.8/5 score on Google Reviews from 82 ratings.

One person wrote: "108 The Bakery is, without a doubt, the best bakery in Hampshire.

"Not only are the breads, pastries, sweeties and savoury treats truly exceptional, the ingredients are also locally sourced, which is something incredibly important to me and - happily - the team behind 108."

Another shared: "Excellent bread and pastries. Fresh and local ingredients and a really good selection of dairy free cakes. Liz and her team are always welcoming and there is a lovely atmosphere at the bakery.

"Without a doubt the best sourdough bread we have ever had. I would highly recommend their sourdough and pastries making workshops."

Meanwhile, another posted: "Romsey is so fortunate to have 108 in the centre of town following its move from the industrial estate.

"To have the sheer scrumptious bread and cakes as well as coffee on our doorstep is amazing. Not only this, but the cakes and savouries are always changing. The amount of work that goes into the offering and the cheerfulness of the staff is such a welcome."
