ROMSEY Rapids has reopened its main pool, rapids and flume after more than two weeks of maintenance.
Starting on Wednesday, July 17, more than two weeks of work were conducted on the facilities until Saturday, August 3.
These developments caused the pools, flume and rapids to close.
The announcement of this closure was met with disappointment by parents on Facebook, due to the work occurring at the onset of the school holidays.

A Places Leisure spokesperson said: “The pool was closed whilst we carried out essential works on our flume. The work was unplanned, we made the decision to fully close as this allowed for the work to be completed in a shorter timeframe than only closing sections of the pool which would have resulted in some features being closed for the entire holiday period. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused during the closure.”
They added: “We can confirm that all pools and features including the flume and rapids reopened on Sunday August 4 where we were delighted to welcome our customers back to the centre.”
The reopening of these facilities was met with a positive response on Facebook, and the rapids have now returned to a normal schedule, with booking slots available for ‘Family fun’, ‘Lane swim sessions’ and ‘Aquafit’.
