Hampshire County Council is encouraging residents to cycle more by launching a 'one-stop-shop' website for information, from journey planning to bikeability courses.
Key details of infrastructure investments, like the new cycle link between Eastleigh and Southampton, alongside active travel grants are made available on the 'Life's Better by Bike' platform.
Cllr Liz Fairhurst, cabinet lead member for adult social care and public health, said: "Cycling is a great way to boost your mood and improve your health. However, starting to cycle regularly on the road can be daunting if you’re new to it. But there are ways to build up your confidence.
"Planning your route, going for test rides at the weekend and speaking to seasoned cyclists can help you feel more self-assured. And swapping even a few short car trips for the bike, or walking if you prefer, can make all the difference to your health and wellbeing, so it’s worth trying."
Cllr Zoe Huggins, executive member for Hampshire 2050 (Climate Change), said: "Cycling is a cheap, environmentally friendly form of travel and helps to cut traffic congestion. I would encourage residents to explore our new website and make cycling part of their lifestyle."
