Cala Homes (Thames) has made a £500 gift to Harestock Primary School's gardening club.
The donation, made on September 23 is part of Cala's broader Community Pledge.
The gardening club, established in 2023, cultivates a variety of vegetables and educates pupils about Winchester’s biodiversity.
It also teaches children to cook with homegrown items and contributes excess food to the school.
The funds will acquire fresh gloves, child-appropriate tools, compost, and a wheelbarrow for furthering their garden project.
Hannah Osmond, teaching assistant at Harestock Primary School, said: "We’re so lucky to be able to offer a gardening club within school grounds to our pupils, already we can see that our pupils are learning about Winchester’s soil, gaining satisfaction from seeing a seed grow into food for the table and offer children the opportunity to excel outside the classroom and learn new vocabulary in the process."
Alison Deakin, sales and marketing director at Cala Thames, said: "We’re proud to be able to support Harestock Primary School and its gardening club. This is a unique opportunity for its pupils and allows them to experience first-hand Winchester’s bio-diversity in a fun and engaging way whilst also providing additional food to the school community. "
