THE next "Shop village" social event is coming up. On Friday, October 11, Sparsholt village shop will host a two-course meal with a bar and entertainment. Tickets are £15 and will be available to purchase from the shop from the end of August.

THE Sparsholt village concert will be held this year on August 18 at St Stephen’s Church. Composers on the programme include Bach, Britten, Lloyd-Webber, Handel and Franck. Tickets are £10 and will be available from July 29 at the village shop or online at sparsholtmusic.org.  

AN OPEN-AIR theatre production of a well-known comedy will be taking place in Easton. On Friday, September 13 at 5pm and Saturday 14 and Sunday September 15 at 4pm, the Southwood Players will perform Alan Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce. The venue is Wincroft. YOGA classes bringing “a sigh of release for the soul” are taking place every Thursday in Kings Worthy. The sessions consist specifically of embodiment flow and yin yoga, and run from 7.45pm until 8.45pm. The venue is Winchester Wellness and tickets cost £10.  THE Worthys music festival returns this year to Eversley Park, Kings Worthy. Promising to be “bigger and better than before”, the event will take place on September 14. The local bands performing will include Flaxen Hill, Dave and We’re Not Worthy. Ukulele music, jazz and classical are a few of the genres on offer, with The Hyde Quartet set to “posh it up” between the more lively acts. Alfred’s Brewery will provide beer and there will be street food along with an array of refreshments. The Winchester Sport and Social Club will also open its bar to the public. RUGBYTOTS classes beginning in September are open for booking in and around THE WORTHYS. The classes are for kids aged between two and seven and are for both boys and girls. The classes are held at various venues, including Princes Mead School, Itchen Abbas Village Hall and Swanmore Village Hall.  THE Worthies Makers Market will be held on September 22, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
