MEMBERS of the Romsey branch of a lifeboat charity recently met to celebrate its 200th anniversary.
The group gathered at the White Horse Hotel on Thursday, August 1 to celebrate the founding of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
This key moment has been marked by lifeboat crews and fundraising volunteers across the country coming together under the “One Moment One Crew” initiative.

Since 1824 the RNLI has saved more than 146,000 lives and assisted many more. The institution is celebrating this milestone year with many events throughout the UK and Ireland.
This year the local Romsey and District branch has so far raised more than £14,000.
Chris Green, the local branch chairman, thanked everyone for their generous support. The charity relies on voluntary contributions to continue its work in saving lives at sea.
