Conservative Hampshire Police commissioner (PCC), Donna Jones, has been widely condemned for her statement justifying riots and thuggery; a statement backed by far-right fugitive Tommy Robinson.

On Saturday August 3, Jones – a regular on far right, Ofcom-censured channel for bias, GB News – said: “I’ve spoken to people from both sides of the spectrum and the only way to stem the tide of violent disorder, is to acknowledge what is causing it.”

One might have hoped that a PCC would have been able to identify that thuggery and lawlessness are clearly the causes, and that these have no role in any ‘debate’. Jones’ position as PCC is clearly untenable. Imagine being an asylum seeker - or just not 'English'/white - in Hampshire and reading Jones’ words in Aldershot, Portsmouth, or anywhere in the UK reading this statement written by an individual whose job is to ‘ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient police service within their force area’? Imagine being a police officer, a member of the emergency services, or a family caught up in all this, and hearing the PCC justify it?

Surely if Jones won't resign, she must be sacked.
