THE South Wonston Parish Council community café has stopped for a summer break. It will return on September 2. The council has also thanked the volunteers who help run the café: Jenny, Mami, Colleen and Lyn.
ST MARY’S Church, Micheldever, will hold a music night on September 29. An unforeseen bill for significant money has arisen for essential repairs on the church's magnificent organ. In response, this evening of music will be dedicated to raising funds for that repair.
The seating will be adjusted to bring the musicians into the nave to optimize the acoustics for music. It is hoped that the music night will evolve into a regular feature, offering a diverse range of music and performances. More information about the music night will be revealed soon.
THE next Micheldever Village Lunch will take place on September 4 at 12.30pm in Northbrook Hall. The cost is £5.00 for a freshly prepared 2-course lunch, a glass of sherry or wine and coffee. It is a very sociable occasion where old friends meet and new friends are made.
Transport can be provided for those without their own vehicles or for the less mobile of attendees.
For more information, contact Juliet Pattinson or Anita Soar.
SOUTH Wonston Store and Post Office has been acquired by Springvale Stores. Several refurbishments are currently taking place inside the store, with the shop to reopen either at the end of August or the beginning of September.

THIS year’s Micheldever Safari Supper will be held on October 5. Each course will be hosted in a different house, with a different group of guests. This year, in a change to the format, there will be the opportunity for everyone to meet up over welcome drinks at the start of the evening, rather than coffee/tea at the end.
The cost will be £25 per person for those hosting a course at their home. If you’d like to take part, but can’t host a course, the cost will be £30 per person. Non-hosting places will be limited due to logistics.
If you would like to take part, contact Helen by email (hesymes@gmail.com) or text on 07712 655975 to reserve a place and request a copy of the booking form.
The event is in aid of St Mary’s Church Fabric Fund.
