Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 20, McCarthy pleaded guilty to the crime, as well as a charge of stealing £40.50 worth of items from Marks and Spencer, also on February 25.
On Monday, July 30, she was sentenced to 10 weeks imprisonment.
She must also pay £140.50 compensation. The court record said that no order was made for costs due to the defendant's limited means.
