A BLAZE in a Hampshire grain dryer needed crews from five stations to put it out.
Basingstoke, Whitchurch, Andover, Eastleigh, and St Mary’s crews were called to a fire that had broken out within a grain dryer in Laverstoke Lane, Micheldever, on Wednesday, July 31.
They quickly deployed an aerial ladder platform to address the fire in the dryer unit, while other team members focused on removing the grain from the silo.

Eight sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels, and two jets were used to stop the fire before the incident was handed over to the owners of the grain dryer.
Station manager Lee Cordwell, who attended the fire, said: “I want to commend our crews for working extremely hard in the intense heat. Their dedication and swift action were instrumental in getting the fire under control so quickly.
“We sincerely thank the owners of the grain dryer for their invaluable assistance and support during this challenging situation.”
