I was a homeowner in King Alfred Terrace near West View House.
We put up with the same issues as reported in last week’s article in the Hampshire Chronicle and editorial comment (July 25).
I organised a meeting in which 50 residents turned up, including the elderly occupants of a section of West View House, the police, manager of Winchester Night Shelter and the local city councillor at the time.
Discussions took place about the alcohol exclusion zone and the antisocial behaviour of West View House residents.
This meeting was approximately 18 years ago, so I would like to reassure the residents of Hyde that nothing will change unless it closes.
