ONE planning application has been refused by Winchester City Council planning officers using their delegated powers this week.

In Compton, plans to demolish an existing house and garage and construct a pair of semi-detached houses and a separate double garage at Four Dells Bungalow, Poles Lane, has been refused.

All other applications have been approved.

In Bishop’s Waltham, plans to treat and remove some rotting timbers and install new softwood framing at White Hart Stables, Bank Street, can go ahead.

A single-storey rear extension can be built at 4 The Priory.

In Compton, plans have been approved to build a proposed new double garage and gym connected to main house with home office above at Oakland House, Field Way.

In Curdridge, the construction of a single storey rear and side extension and first floor rear extension at Pinkmead Cottage, Botley Road, has been approved.

At Greenwood Manor, Greenwood Lane, Durley, plans have been approved to carry out replacement work on a barn on the property.

In Winchester Town, an application to make alterations to the first floor flat of 35 Southgate Street has been approved.

The University of Winchester has had a new condition added ensuring that no sound amplifying equipment, which when operated is audible outside the premises, shall be installed in the premises without the prior written consent of the Local Planning Authority at the sports ground in Milland Road, Bar End.

A listed building application has been approved for 46 Canon Street. The application concerns the replacement of insulation across the property.
