A CEREMONY will be held in Swanmore to rededicate the newly refurbished war memorial outside St Barnabas.
The project has been spearheaded by community safety officer Gary McCulloch and will be held on Sunday, August 4 at 6pm. 
This is a significant anniversary date for the First World War as Britain declared war on Germany on this date in 1914.

A SWANMORE pub is hosting a 90s evening to raise money for an air ambulance charity.
The night of music from the 1990s will be at the Rising Sun on Saturday, August 17 starting at 7pm. 
The event is free entry, but funds will be raised for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. 
Organisers are encouraging people to come in fancy dress. 

VOLUNTEER minibus drivers are needed in Bishop's Waltham.
A post on the Bishop's Waltham What's On Facebook page said: "Please think about volunteering to drive the Bishop's Waltham minibus. We are very fortunate to have this service available in Bishop's Waltham but without more drivers, we risk losing it.

THE next give and take stall will be in Bishop's Waltham this weekend. 
It will be on Saturday, July 27 in St George's Square from 10.30am to 2.30pm. 
Organisers on Facebook said: “Start gathering your unwanted toys, games, books and clothes for children under 11 and bring them along to donate. Then have a browse and see if there are any items you'd like to take home with you!
“This is an initiative run by the town team to help reduce waste in our town. it is free to give and take but we welcome donations to the charity collection pots which are made available on the stall.”

CHURCH Road, Swanmore, will be closed for two days for resurfacing works. 
It will be closed from the junction of Hampton Hill to opposite ‘The Old Cottage' on July 25 and 26. 
During which time the road will be closed to through traffic from approximately 7.30am - 5pm.
