WINCHESTER City Council has appointed three people to oversee governance and ensure it keeps to its code of conduct.
The new 'independent persons' were officially appointed at the full council meeting on Tuesday, July 16.

Alan Harrison, Linda Phillips and Peter Baulf will replace Michael Cronin after seven years in the role.
Cllr Margot Power, who was on the interview panel, told the council that the recruitment was very thorough and thanked Mr Cronin for his service.
The appointments were unanimously approved.
