A POPULAR Winchester clothes shop celebrated its last day with a party.

Pavilion, in The Square, had its last day of trading on Saturday, July 13 after being in the city since 2007.

It has closed after owner Mandy Macartney and shop manager Kelly Venus decided to retire.

They held a party at The Orangery, opposite Pavilion, for staff, customers and neighbours.

“It was a night to celebrate 17 years of being in the city and thank everyone for their support,” said Mandy, 60, who lives in Popham.

“We had a real outpouring of love for the shop from everyone and I feel so proud to have been a part of the wonderful independent retail scene in Winchester. We now move on to a new chapter with thanks and happiness.”

Mandy previously said that the unit would continue as a clothes shop but didn't know exactly who was moving in.
