A NEW beauty salon is coming to Winchester city centre.

Mooeys Winchester will be based at The Brooks Shopping Centre, with plans for the salon to occupy the unit previously occupied by the comics and board games shop CGC, which closed at the end of March.

Work is currently taking place to get the unit ready for the opening, which will be on Friday, July 26.

Part of the larger Mooeys franchise, the new salon will be run by Winchester woman Katie Jansons, a former Mooeys customer who has become a franchisee.

She said: “I see our salon becoming a beloved part of the Winchester community, a place where we can continue to innovate and set standards in the beauty industry.

“We’re excited about what lies ahead!”

Katie continued: “Mooeys isn’t just about beauty treatments; it’s about creating a space where everyone feels like they belong. Our goal is for every client to feel welcomed and valued—the same way I felt during my first visit to Mooeys.

“We are so excited to open and welcome the Winchester community.”

Simon Turpin, director of The Brooks Shopping Centre, said that opening of Mooeys will be “brilliant for the Brooks and the city centre.”

He said: “They are a great franchise and Katie is a very passionate person. They are going to be a great addition to Winchester.”

Originally founded by Amy Lewis, Mooeys has branches across the south of England, including in Petersfield, Farnham, Newbury and Godalming.

Amy said: “Each Mooeys location is a home away from home, where warmth and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

“We're thrilled to welcome Katie and her team to our family. Their dedication to creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere is exactly what Mooeys stands for.”

She continued: “Many of our franchise owners, like Katie, started as clients or staff members at Mooeys. Their transformation into business owners is a testament to Mooeys nurturing environment, which fosters growth and confidence.
