A ROMSEY architecture and design practice has had a re-brand.

The firm, previously known as ep projects, is a leader in sustainable architecture and construction, operating primarily in Hampshire and central southern England.

Introducing the new name ep architects, managing director Gary Wilburn said: “Everything we do is focussed on sustainability, net-zero objectives and in creating a positive environmental and social impact.

“We formed the architectural practice in September 2020 and moved to 21A Market Place, Romsey, in May of last year. Whilst the previous name has served us well and reflects the wider range of services we provide to clients, we feel that the new name more clearly describes our professional role and purpose.

“Ep architects seek to design energy efficient buildings to enable our clients to achieve carbon reduction objectives. This includes both new-build and retrofit projects, promoting low-energy architecture.

“We specialise in four areas. Homes - including individual or bespoke homes; transport and heritage - an example is the redevelopment of Shawford Railway Station as a café and community hub; nature and leisure - includes innovative nature conservancy proposals; and development - larger scale employment, mixed-use and residential projects.

“We very much look forward to working with our existing clients, and welcoming new clients following this change of name.”

Among its projects is the proposed redevelopment of World of Water in Greatbridge Road, which was hit by an suspected arson attack in April.

James Lemanis, director of architecture, said: “Ep architects adopt innovative, green, and sustainable techniques from the early stages of our architecture and design. We recognise that energy efficiency can appear to be a complicated area and provide clients with unbiased and professional advice to achieve the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions.

“This includes the re-use and re-purpose of existing materials and employing the latest regenerative techniques to ensure a positive and sustainable building design and outcome.

“In addition to providing a full architectural service, we will continue to guide clients through all aspects of planning, master planning, and the detailed processes required to obtain permission, detail, and deliver projects of varying scale and complexity. This includes advising on budget, materials and renewable energy strategies.

“We are delighted to launch a new website as part of the name change. The new site name is entirely appropriate for ep architects as a modern architecture and design practice.”
