A LISTED city centre pub wants to convert storage rooms into a three-bedroom flat.
Alfies, in The Broadway, has applied for planning permission for its listed building, which dates back to the 17th century.
The scheme was submitted by Graeme Sutherland and it had received no public comments in support or objection by Friday, July 12.
The planning statement said that access would be created by installing a new staircase within an existing bedroom on the first floor and removing the existing ceiling joists to form the opening.

The walls and ceiling on the second floor will be thermally upgraded to comply with building regulations.
The statement added: “The existing exposed roof timbers will be untouched, encapsulated and undisturbed by the required insulation, plasterboard and skim.
“The existing second floor space will be divided in order to provide three bedrooms (utilising the existing window positions and a shared bathroom.
“In conclusion the proposed works only seek to enhance the building and the conversion of the space to from bedrooms and a bathroom will not detract from the true and full historic characteristics of the building or structure but make it a more attractive and usable space.”
The building is owned by City Pub Group. It's listed as The India Arms Public House, and dates to the 17th century with 18th century frontage.
