A NEW CGI has been revealed of a housing development on a historic site in Bishop's Waltham.
In August 2022, Winchester City Council permitted the Abbey Mill Place development of a 66-bedroom care home, 38 assisted-living flats, 19 family homes and 12 affordable homes at Station Road.
The new CGI shows a section of the development. The site was at the centre of a controversy more than five years ago when Sainsbury's proposed a supermarket, an issue that divided the town.
The scheme initially sought the demolition of Abbey Mill. However, the plans were altered with the mill retained.
According to the developer Beechcroft's website, guide prices will start from £495,000.

Angela South, sales and marketing director for Beechcroft, said: “We founded our special projects division more than 20 years ago, in response to demand from buyers under the age of 55 who were looking for the relaxed lifestyle and high-quality homes provided by Beechcroft.
“With full-time residency restricted to the over 16s, home owners will become part of a peaceful community of like-minded neighbours. An estate manager will be on hand to handle the day-to-day administration including the cleaning and maintenance of communal areas and the upkeep of both private gardens and the landscaped setting – and to keep an eye on properties whilst owners are away.”
