A school in Winchester has been given £5,000 towards an outdoor centre.
The Henry Beaufort School in Harestock received a cheque from Tesco in Winnall as part of their Stronger Starts Programme.
Staff and students at the school have already started planning the design and layout of their Outdoor Learning Centre.
The area is projected to help provide a vital break-out space and outdoor learning facilities.
Students are expected to participate in building and planting raised beds for flowers and vegetables as part of the project.
The centre also aims to help students with neurodiverse challenges access curriculum areas that they find difficult under regular circumstances.
The £5,000 grant is just the beginning of the funding for this project.
The school informed that they are eager to continue to collaborate with Groundworks and the Tesco team in Winnall to expand on this opportunity.
While grateful for the grant, the school is also looking for additional financial help to completely achieve their goal of five main areas in the centre.
