Families are in for an enchanting treat as 'Mr Toad' takes to the stage at Theatre Royal Winchester.
Illustrating the tale of Mr Toad, whose love for speed and extravagant lifestyle might get him in trouble, the show is an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's celebrated novel, 'Wind in the Willows', dating back to 1908.
Taking the audience on an unforgettable journey will be Mr Toad's companions, Badger, Ratty and Mole. They plan to save their residence, Toad Hall, from the cunning Miss Weasel.
Produced by Wise Owl Theatre Company, known for their previous hits, Honk: The Ugly Duckling Musical and The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, the show promises a blend of puppetry, music, and dance.
Fans of puppetry will be particularly delighted as the puppet characters have been created by Matthew Forbes, the associate puppetry director from the National Theatre.
Mr Forbes previously worked on the award-winning production, 'War Horse' and as a puppetry consultant for 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.'
'Mr Toad' comes with wholesome messages about love, laughter, and the importance of friendship.
The shows on July 27 and 28 are scheduled at 10.30am and 2pm, and 10.30am respectively, with tickets available at theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or via phone on 01962 840 440.
Recommended for ages four and above.
