A ROMSEY woman is seeing success with her new spa, more than six months after it opened its doors.
Aimee Shergold, 37, opened her latest venture, Ayano Day Spa in Stanbridge Lane, Awbridge, in December. This comes after the closing of her previous spa, Shergold Spa, in West Wellow.
Aimee told the Advertiser: “We have a lot more room here. Where we were before was very small.

“And now we’ve got five day beds, and we currently have one sauna. We have one more sauna currently on the way, and then eventually we will have an outside space as well that will have a hot tub, outdoor showers, a cold plunge bath and a cold plunge bucket.
“We also want to put in a work-from-home cabin, so you can rent it out as a hot desk but it will be in the spa so you can enjoy a massage on your lunch break!”
The spa currently employs two staff, with Aimee hoping to one day expand to 15 team members.
Aimee said that she has been working in the local area since she was 14, starting out working in her mum’s wool shop in the Corn Market before becoming involved in the beauty industry.
She explained: “I worked in a few beauty salons before I went self-employed and became a mobile beauty therapist.
“I like to make people feel better about themselves, and in regards to the spa I’ve always been a working mum who has always been rushed off her feet, so I knew I always wanted a space I could relax in, where I could go for half an hour, relax and then get on with my busy day. So, I wanted to create a space that was accessible, so people don’t have to take too much time out of their day to create relaxation, because that is really important to enable you to live a busy lifestyle.”

Aimee said that the spa has been well received by the community, with 201 five-star reviews since it opened in December. She continued: “It’s important that we need to get the word out.
“Everyone who has come to see us have said how incredible they have felt after they have been and how great it is to have us on their doorstep.
“I’ve even had a few people who I worked for come and try the spa!”
Ayano Spa is one of the few spa’s in the area to have disabled access, and welcomes children during specific times.
