I would like to add my voice to your four published correspondents last week in praise of Friarsgate and in particular raise concerns about the CQC's own practice.

Whist it records Friarsgate 'responsiveness' as 'Outstanding' it took them over six months to publish its own report in June 2024 following their inspection in December 2023.  By their own ratings that would warrant a grading of 'Inadequate'.

Also worrying that Friarsgate is not the only practice experiencing these delays across the country.

Having worked for health, children's and social care regulatory bodies previously I am very conscious of the impact a damming report can have, particularly on staff morale, demonstrated recently by the tragic  Ofsted issues in the field of school inspections.

I fall into their category of 'people with long term conditions' etc , of which they are most critical  and like others have received excellent services from Friarsgate  for over 30 years, from the days of Drs Roddy Morton, Nigel Sylvester and Martyn Diaper to today with remarkable support from Dr Selvaratnam.

I therefore hope Friarsgate staff can take some comfort from the many concerns regarding the CQC and the complements offered by their grateful patients.
