A HAMPSHIRE man has been handed a 15-month prison sentence for offences including the theft of a car wheel.
James Robert Wood, 33, of Cutforth Way in Romsey was imprisoned for multiple counts of theft and criminal damage in Romsey, the New Forest and Dorset.
Most recently, on May 27, Wood stole a wheel from a vehicle on Botley Road, Romsey.
On April 13, he stole a bronze statue worth £4980 and a pair of garden gloves from an address in Emery Down. Apparently the statue was of "huge sentimental value" to the owner.

On the same day, he stole an electric bicycle worth £3,000 from another address in the same area.
Prior to that, on August 23, 2023, he had stolen a number plate from a vehicle on Fordingbridge High Street.
The court also heard how on August 16, 2023, Wood attempted to burgle an address on Ashford Close, Fordingbridge, and caused damage to a garden shed during an attempt to gain entry.
He was sentenced for an additional theft at Ivy Cross in Shaftesbury on October 27, 2023, and a burglary and criminal damage on Ulwell Road in Swanage.
