Organisers have announced Hampshire Countryside Day will take place on Sunday September 15.

Bereleigh Estate in East Meon, near Petersfield, will host the event sponsored by SHORTS plant hire and waste management.

The affair will also lend support to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. The day's agenda promises to celebrate rural life and traditions.

For many years the event was held near Alresford, at Tichborne Park and at Northington.

Planned activities and competitions aim to get spectators involved in the celebration. A range of shopping options will cater to a variety of tastes.

This year's event will also showcase a Hound Parade featuring displays by the Hursley Hambledon Hunt and other packs.

For spectators interested in bird life, a falconry display from Hawking About is taking place.

Other activities include a relay by the Hunt Scurry and a dog training presentation by Gamegoer.

A highlight of the event will be a flight simulator brought by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, which provides an immersive experience of a helicopter rescue.

The show will also feature a 'have a go' archery session from Raven Field Archers. This creates an opportunity for people of all skill levels to try shooting at roundels and targets.

Meon Valley Air Guns are also due to return and run a target shooting session.

Fun for all the family is promised by the Wessex Ferret Club with their lively ferret racing.

The dog show is anticipated to be a crowd-puller again.

Enthusiasts can enter their pets into a variety of classes, including Dog with Waggiest Tail and Best Child Handler.

The Gun Dog Scurry, a game open to all breeds of gundogs, is making a comeback.

Rosettes and dog food vouchers await the top three in each class at this competition. Also, The Lurcher and Terrier Show, hosted by The Coursing Crew, will feature races.

Visitors can enjoy culinary offerings at the food and drink stands satisfying diverse food cravings. There will also be numerous stands selling high-quality crafts, leisure items, sporting goods, clothing, and gifts.

The society representing Working Clumber Spaniels is also due to attend. They aim to inform event-goers on the work they do. The event is scheduled to run from 9.30am to 5pm.

Admission is priced at £15 for adults, while under 16s are admitted free.
