Fans of rock band Dire Straits are cordially invited to a tribute evening organised by DS:UK at the Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday, July 11.
The tribute band is set to grace the stage with The Alchemical Tour, a homage to Dire Straits’ live album, Alchemy: Dire Straits Live.
This live album consists of recordings from their 1982-83 Love Over Gold tour.
Formed in the late 70s, Dire Straits were initially known for supporting Elvis Costello.
The band went on to tour globally, gracing stages in Europe, America and Australia and making appearances at Live Aid and Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday tribute.
They achieved multi-million album sales, fame from hits such as Sultans of Swing and Money For Nothing, and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
DS:UK, composed of six seasoned musicians, began touring in 2018 and has become a recognised tribute to Dire Straits.
Their previous sell-out tours, Brothers in '85 and ON anoTHEr NIGHT, have proved popular nationwide.
The Alchemical Tour promises to offer something special for all Dire Straits aficionados.
The event will take place from 7.30pm and for further information, or to book tickets, contact the Theatre Royal Winchester via theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
