The National Theatre Live will be broadcasting its screening of Present Laughter at Theatre Royal Winchester this month.

Present Laughter, starring Fleabag's Andrew Scott, portrays the tumultuous life of leading actor, Garry Essendine, who finds himself in an escalating identity crisis as he prepares for an overseas tour.

His final days at home are marked by a chaotic whirlwind of competing relationships, panic and introspection.

This screening will be of the award-winning production, filmed live at The Old Vic in London in 2019 during a sold-out run.

Directed by Matthew Warchus, the play has gathered widespread recognition as a modern reflection on fame, desire, and loneliness.

Apart from Mr Scott, who is also known for his roles in Vanya and All of Us Strangers, the play also features Sophie Thompson from Into the Woods and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Indira Varma, from The Seagull and Game of Thrones.

The screening of Present Laughter on Tuesday, July 23 is expected to start at 7pm and comes with a PG certification.
