Autin Dance Theatre is bringing their outdoor street show, Parade – The Giant Wheel, to Winchester's Hat Fair in July.
The performance on July 5 and 6, which features a 12-foot tall Giant Wheel powered by six circus artists, is inspired by shared common humanity.
Andrew Loretto, of Hat Fair organisers Play to the Crowd, said: "We are delighted to be a part of this exciting project and welcoming Parade –The Giant Wheel as part of Hat Fair 2024."
The wheel will be part of a special community opening programme 'Look Back, Look Forwards, Look Up' at Cathedral Outer Close on July 5, 6pm.
Performances are scheduled on July 6 at The Square at 12pm and 3.15pm.
Johnny Autin, the artistic director of Autin Dance Theatre, said: "We can't wait for hundreds of local residents to meet our cast and the Giant Wheel! Thank you to Hat Fair for making this happen."
Mr MacKechnie, creative director & CEO of Imagineer Productions, described the act, saying: "Parade is the embodiment of a carefully created outdoor performance – it fuses circus, dance, procession and engineering into a show that reaches out to audiences."
There will also be open workshops on June 29 and July 3 for anybody interested in the Parade.
