Get ready for a musical extravaganza at this year's 14th annual West Meon Music Festival, taking place in September.

The festival promises eight concerts over four days, featuring an award-winning pianist, baroque musicians of international repute, and two of the UK’s finest young string players, all joining the famed Primrose Piano Quartet.

Tickets for the event from September 12-15 are now on sale, with a starting price of £15.

There are considerable discounts for full-time students and accompanied children.

This year is brimming with exciting performances. The programme includes piano quartets by music stars including Mozart, Schumann, and Brahms.

Additionally, audiences can enjoy a rarely-performed piano sextet composed by Sergei Lyapunov, the man who made his way to Paris post the 1917 Russian revolution.

The quartet will be complemented by double bassist Will Duerden and violinist Tom Aldren.

Many of the concerts are held at West Meon’s St John the Evangelist Church, the festival also expands into other parts of the Meon Valley.

Red Priest, the baroque quartet who have been delighting audiences worldwide since 1997, will be offering their unique brand of high energy performances and theatrical presentations at East Meon church on the morning of Saturday, September 14.

With "Truly Madly Baroque", these musicians promise an exploration of love, joy, and madness.

Later that day, the Church of Our Lady in Warnford hosts a recital by the Primrose’s string players, showcasing works by Purcell and Mozart.

The festival continues on Sunday morning with the renowned Lithuanian pianist Gabrielé Sutkuté, winner of 20 international piano competitions, playing works by Rameau, Brahms, Debussy and Prokofiev in West Meon.

To conclude the festival, the Primrose Piano Quartet focusing on "German Romantics" will perform compositions by Felix Mendelssohn, his sister Fanny, Emilie Mayer, and Robert Schumann in the afternoon.

West Meon's Thomas Lord pub will host a late-night jazz concert by local band, East of Meon, which aims to support The Elizabeth Foundation.

This foundation, which is the UK’s leading charity for pre-school deaf children, uses music as therapy to help them with learning and communication skills.
